Season's of Change

"To everything there is a season and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven."
Ecclesiasties 3:1

Oh me...oh my, our hearts are filled with sadness and sorrow *sniff-sniff*. This is a post we did not want to write. But unfortunately the day has come.

We have decided to close the doors at this location for The Cottonwood House *wiping the tears from our eyes* Yes, you read correctly... we agonized over our decision but due to many, many different circumstances it is something we feel we must do.

"Dreams are Free...so Free your DREAMS!!!"
~Astrid Alauda

For the last 5 years we have poured our heart and soul and physical bodies (that furniture is HEAVY you know) into first "Bittersweet Antiques" and then what you now know as "The Cottonwood House."
It has been our dear mom's dream to create a beautiful, peaceful and inspirational environment for each and every customer that has come in. And in our oh so humble opinion she has gone above and beyond that dream!!!! Cottonwood fulfilled a life-long passion she had but even though this season is over we know that whatever she will do in the future she will SUCCEED MIGHTILY!!! You go Mama!!

"Wait on the Lord be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart...wait I say, on the Lord."
Psalm 27:14

Now if you know our mom you may be wondering what she will do next! Well, as this verse implies we are in a bit of a waiting period BUT we have some ideas brewing (really good one's) . Although we will no longer be selling from our location here at the barn you have not seen the last of us...so stay tuned to this blog for events and and future plans.

Now for the GOOD NEWS...

We are letting everything go at up to 25% off...EVERYTHING!!!
If you had your eye on anything NOW is the time to snatch it up and don't forget Ele Ela...good deals I tell ya...good deals!!!

Come on guys...this is your "Shop-ortunity"

oh...did we mention EVERYTHING MUST GO!!!
(come see us now through the end of summer)

We could not have been more blessed by you all...our dear customers and friends...we have met many, many wonderful people and have enjoyed hearing your stories. Thanks for your loyalty and faithfulness to us here at Cottonwood!!! You are the absolute BEST!!!

Our hope is that you will continue to follow us. Please feel free to leave us a comment or send an email to us...we would love to hear from you!!!

Vern, Carm and Sondra...
I hear two things in this post...sadness for what was, and anticipation of what will be. May the Lord give clarity to each day and exciting ideas for your futures that far exceed what you expect today!
Blessings to each of you!

Change can be painful, and I too felt a real sadness when I sat down and read this. Even though I did not get to visit your amazing shop like I wanted to so often, it hurts to think of you not being there. I am committed to prayer for you all and the new direction that God is calling you to. I know without a single doubt that He did not give you all of that talent, without reason. So, with that in mind, I personally am excited to see where and how He will direct you all in the future. I do believe that there is coming more and more of a market for those who buy old, clean up, mend, and paint, and then resell. Because all I read says that people are going back to the days of home cooking, baking and aprons. I appreciated both of the posts that you shared and the positive quotes that you included. I am looking forward to what is ahead for all of you talented, artistic people.

Hi there Ladies,

Needless to say we are crushed... We LOVED The Cottonwood House and will really miss you! As others have alluded to, The Lord directs our path and it's Him we gladly follow. With that in mind, we pray God's Blessing over you and your family.

With Love,
Susan, Marla, Nancy, Cathy, Kelly, Donna, and Shirley

Oh, Ladies- I haven't read the blog in quite some time, wow, I too read sadness but also hope in the Lord. I am really hoping to get down this month before you close the doors...

I know that in whatever you all take up God will be in the lead as I have personally come to know as one season ends, God has a much better one beginning for you. The quotes were amazing and went well with your heartfelt message. I'm excited to see what is next and hope to be in before the 31st. God Bless, Libby
